Funny story: Little boy asks dad why he ‘exercises’ in bed

Unlike real medicine, laughter is free, has no side effects, and doesn’t require a prescription. Best of all? It’s contagious in the best way possible!

Today’s dose of humor comes from a little boy’s innocent question that turns into a full-blown household emergency.

One afternoon, little Dave wandered into the living room where his dad was flipping through TV channels.

With pure curiosity, Dave asked, “Dad, why do grown-ups exercise in bed?”

Dad, mid-channel switch, nearly choked on his breath.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Mom froze. She clutched her spoon, dinner forgotten—this was about to get real.

Dad, clearing his throat, tried to keep it together. “Uh… because it makes grown-ups happy.”

Dave’s face lit up. “I want to be happy too!”

Dad chuckled nervously. “Well, you have to wait until you’re a grown-up, son.”

Dave, still deep in thought, asked, “But who’s going to exercise with me when I’m grown up?”

Dad, thinking he had safely dodged disaster, smiled. “Hopefully, your wife will.”

Dave nodded but then frowned, confusion setting in.

“Oh… but Dad, if that’s true, why does our neighbor Sally exercise with you?”

The crash from the kitchen was immediate. Mom stormed in, eyes blazing, spoon in hand.

Ten minutes later, an ambulance was on its way—for Dad.

And Dave? He’s still trying to figure out why “bed exercises” seem so dangerous.
