A love story that defied the odds and stood the test of time.

A love story that defied all odds and stood the test of time—this is the kind of devotion that lasts forever. ❤️💍

I married the love of my life when I was just 25. She was 20, and the world couldn’t understand it. People whispered, “It won’t last,” and even her parents didn’t attend the wedding.

To them, I was just a stranger—young, without money, and with no real plans for the future. But I knew. I knew that what we had was something real, something unbreakable. She was my heart, my everything.

We planned the wedding ourselves, young and excited, but knowing so little about how it was “supposed” to be done.

And so, we stood together under the sun, that beautiful day, and they were wrong—it did last. Thirty-five years of love, six kids, five grandkids, and countless memories we built together.

When the time came to say goodbye, I was right there, holding her hand. Our children surrounded us, in the home we made, the life we built.

Not everyone gets to live a love like ours, but we did. This was our story.

On Valentine’s Day, I visit her at the cemetery with roses in hand, as I always have.

I give her what I always gave her—my heart, my devotion, and the promise that even after all this time, I would still choose her, every single day.

In loving memory of you, Darlene. 💕
