Meet Henry, an elderly lawyer with a reputation for his razor – sharp wit and an unwavering commitment to honesty. He’s been married to his beloved wife, Eleanor, for over 40 years, and together they’ve raised a rambunctious brood of 12 children. Their home is a constant hub of activity, filled with the sounds of laughter, bickering, and the general chaos that comes with such a large family.
But life threw Henry a curveball when their rental agreement was set to expire. He began the daunting task of searching for a new home for his family. However, every time he mentioned having 12 children to potential landlords, they would politely decline, fearing the property damage that such a large number of kids might cause.
Henry, being a true professional, refused to lie about his situation. He knew that lawyers don’t lie; they find creative solutions.
One day, while at the office, he overheard a conversation about a unique real estate agent named Mr. Thompson. Mr. Thompson was known for his strict rules but also for his soft heart when it came to sob stories.
Inspiration struck Henry. He hatched a plan and shared it with Eleanor. The next day, Eleanor took 11 of their children on an outing to the cemetery, under the guise of a peaceful family stroll. Meanwhile, Henry took their youngest child, Lily, with him to meet Mr. Thompson.

They arrived at a beautiful house with a spacious garden. Mr. Thompson showed them around, and Henry was immediately smitten. As they were wrapping up the viewing, Mr. Thompson asked, “So, Mr. Henry, how many children do you have?” Henry replied truthfully, “I have 12 children, Mr. Thompson.” Mr. Thompson raised an eyebrow and asked, “And where are the others?”
With a solemn expression, Henry took a deep breath and said, “My dear wife, Eleanor, she… she passed away recently. The children are having a hard time. Eleven of them are at the cemetery today, visiting her grave.
