From TV Debut to Hollywood Darling

Her first break came on her father’s show, Robert Montgomery Presents, in 1951. Broadway soon followed, with her performance in Late Love earning her a Theater World Award. She made waves in early TV hits like Studio One and The Twilight Zone.

Elizabeth’s big-screen debut in The Court Martial of Billy Mitchell (1955) led to roles in films like Johnny Cool (1963) and Who’s Been Sleeping in My Bed (1963), showcasing her versatility.


Bewitching the World

In 1964, Elizabeth landed the role that defined a generation—Samantha Stephens in Bewitched. Her nose-twitching spells and sharp wit made her an instant favorite. The sitcom, which cleverly tackled gender roles and social norms, was a cultural phenomenon, earning her five Emmy nominations.
