Tragic Bus Crash in Colombia Claims 13 Lives, Dozens Injured

At least 13 people were killed, and nearly 30 others injured when a bus plunged into a 160-foot gorge in Colombia on Friday, January 3. The crash occurred in Tangua, along a road connecting Pasto to Ipiales, in the early hours of the morning.

According to Colombia’s Minister of Transport, María Constanza García Alicastro, the bus, which was traveling to the Santuario de las Lajas pilgrimage site near the Ecuadorian border, was navigating a stretch of road known for its “complicated curves.” Local media reported 42 people were on board, with 28 injured and one unscathed. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals in Tangua, Ipiales, and Pasto.
