As Chris walked home with Ollie, his heart was a mix of joy and anxiety. He knew Mila wouldn’t be pleased about the new addition to their home. But he believed in his decision and was determined to persuade Mila to keep the dog somehow.
With each step, Chris promised himself that he would provide Ollie with the love and care he deserved. When they reached the apartment building, Chris took a deep breath and prepared himself for the inevitable conversation with Mila.
As he opened the door, Mila looked up from the couch, her eyes widening in surprise. “Chris, what is that?” she exclaimed, pointing at Ollie.
Chris gave her a sheepish smile. “This is Ollie. I found him on the street, and he’s been through a lot. I couldn’t just leave him there.”
Mila crossed her arms. “You know I don’t like dogs, Chris. And we live in a small apartment. Where is he going to sleep?”

Chris sat down next to her and took her hand. “I know it’s a lot to ask, Mila. But Ollie is such a sweet dog. He’s not a troublemaker. And I promise I’ll take full responsibility for him. I’ll walk him, feed him, and clean up after him.”
Mila looked at Ollie, who was sitting quietly in the corner, his big eyes looking sad. She sighed. “I don’t know, Chris. This is a big change for us.”
Chris squeezed her hand. “I know, but I think Ollie needs us. And I think he’ll bring a lot of joy to our lives. Please, Mila, just give him a chance.”
