Laundry Tricks: Beyond Just Detergent

We all have our laundry routines, and a lot of folks just toss in detergent when washing clothes. But there’s a simple secret that can take your laundry game to the next level. Adding one extra thing not only gets your clothes cleaner but also tackles common laundry problems.

1. Keep Colors Vibrant

  • For light – colored clothes: Before washing, add a bit of white vinegar to the water. This helps keep them looking fresh and bright.
  • For dark – colored clothes: Use table salt instead of vinegar. It prevents fading and keeps the color rich.

2. Banish Hotpot Grease Stains

If hotpot oil splashes on your clothes, don’t rush to wash them right away. Put a little toothpaste on the stain. Rub it gently with some water until it foams, then wash as normal. The grease stain will be gone!

3. Whiten Yellow – Stained White Clothes

White clothes stain easily. Boil some water, add lemon slices, and soak the stained clothes for 15 minutes before washing. You’ll notice a big difference.

4. Get Rid of Sweat Odors

To remove sweat smells from clothes, add a small amount of white vinegar to clean water. Soak the clothes for about 15 minutes, then wash and dry in a well – ventilated place.

5. Erase Soy Sauce Stains

If soy sauce spills on your clothes, wet the stained part with water. Sprinkle some sugar on it, rub gently, and rinse with clean water.

6. Tackle Blood Stains

Blood stains need quick action. Rinse the stained fabric right away with cold water or a mild saltwater solution. Then wash with soapy water. Don’t use hot water, as it can set the blood and make it harder to remove.
