Deadly Bus Crash on Highway 57: One Killed, Several Injured in Early Morning Rollover

A tragic bus accident on Highway 57 has left one person dead and several others injured, including a young child in critical condition.

The crash occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning near kilometer 68 on the Hermanas–Sabinas stretch of the highway. The bus, marked with unit number 9132, was traveling from Ciudad Acuña to Gómez Palacio, Durango, when it overturned for reasons still under investigation.

The bus driver, identified as Alfonso Nava, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency responders from multiple agencies—Urban Rescue teams from Monclova, Red Cross units from Sabinas, and firefighters from Escobedo—rushed to the scene and transported the injured to nearby hospitals.

Among the victims is a child named Jairo, who was airlifted in critical condition to IMSS Clinic 7 in Monclova. At least five other passengers suffered various injuries.

Local authorities are working to determine the cause of the rollover, while families of those affected await more information.


Driver Flees After Late-Night Rollover in Durango

A high-speed crash left a vehicle overturned and abandoned Tuesday night near Parque Raymundo on the Gómez Palacio–Cuencamé highway in Lerdo, Durango.

The rollover occurred around 10:00 p.m. when the vehicle struck a streetlight and a concrete base before flipping onto its roof. When Municipal Police and traffic officials arrived, they found the car empty—its driver had fled the scene.

According to initial reports, excessive speed likely caused the crash. The Forensics unit of the Traffic and Road Safety Department is handling the investigation.
