Over the next few weeks, Alla Sergeevna made a conscious effort to change her behavior. She started helping Liliya around the house, and they even cooked meals together. Liliya taught her mother – in – law some of the skills she had learned in running the shopping center, and Alla Sergeevna was genuinely interested.
Igor was overjoyed to see the change in his family. He realized how lucky he was to have Liliya in his life. One evening, as they sat on the balcony, watching the sunset, he turned to her. “You know, Liliya, you’ve not only taught my mother a lesson but also me. You’re so strong and wise.”
Liliya smiled and leaned into him. “We’re a family now. And families should support each other, not tear each other down.”
As the days turned into months, the relationship between Liliya and Alla Sergeevna continued to improve. Liliya even invited her mother – in – law to work part – time at the shopping center. Alla Sergeevna took to her new role with enthusiasm, and she found a new sense of purpose.
One day, while they were having a family dinner, Alla Sergeevna raised her glass. “To Liliya, for showing me the error of my ways and for giving me a chance to be a better part of this family.”
The glasses clinked, and everyone smiled. Liliya knew that the difficult times were behind them, and a new, happier chapter of their lives had begun.
