Later, when they moved to Montecito, California, they welcomed Lilibet in June 2021. Her name, a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, sparked some controversy. Harry and Meghan, perhaps not realizing the full weight of royal protocol, faced backlash for using the monarch’s childhood nickname.
Sadly, before Lilibet’s arrival, the couple experienced a heartbreaking miscarriage in 2020. Meghan later shared her emotional experience in a personal essay, revealing the deep grief they both felt. Although the pain still lingers, they’ve found joy in their growing family and focus on cherishing every moment with their children.
Now, with Lilibet turning three, there’s been speculation about whether Harry and Meghan will have a third child. While they’ve both stated their satisfaction with two children—Harry even said “two, maximum!”—they’ve also expressed how quickly their kids are growing up, and how emotional it makes them feel. Still, it seems unlikely they will add another member to their family.
