The 7-year-old royal recently debuted his most polished look yet at the UEFA Euro 2020 Championships in England, and fashion designer Sophie Mirman, who has dressed the Cambridge children for years, was all praises.

She called him “dapper and regal,” adding, “He must have felt very cool and grown-up in his jacket and tie. It was also adorable how he matched his dad.”
Mirman, the founder of Trotters, a children’s clothing brand, has been behind George’s wardrobe since he was little, and she’s seen him evolve into a “young man” rather than the little boy he once was.
She also commented on how Kate and William do a fantastic job of picking the right outfits for their kids at the right times.
George, attending the Euro matches with Prince William at Wembley Stadium, looked the part of a future king. While many spectators were in Team England gear, the royal family, seated in the VIP box alongside celebrities like David Beckham and Tom Cruise, were dressed in smart attire, fitting the occasion perfectly. Mirman noted, “It would have been odd to see William in a suit and tie and George in shorts and a polo — it was just right.”
George has made a shift from his signature shorts and knee-high socks, a style he’s worn since he was little, like in 2019 when he wore a coordinated navy blazer and smart pants for Christmas. It seems he’s leaving behind the typical royal child’s style for something more mature, as he’s growing up fast.
With his 8th birthday coming up on July 22 (the age when etiquette experts say royal boys typically swap shorts for trousers), expect George’s style to continue evolving—just like his dad’s did at the same age. According to Mirman, his look is a modern version of what young princes would’ve worn during Princess Diana’s time. And it suits him perfectly.
