In a bustling city, John and Sarah were the kind of couple everyone admired—loving, devoted, and always keeping life interesting. But they had one tiny problem: John was ridiculously forgetful.

Groceries? Forgotten. Important calls? Missed. Anniversaries? Well… let’s just say Sarah had learned to send him reminders weeks in advance.
Sarah, a perfectionist to her core, couldn’t stand slip-ups. So, one evening, when John walked through the door empty-handed after promising to pick up groceries, she sighed, shook her head, and playfully called him a “jackass.”
John, instead of sulking, saw an opportunity. He disappeared for a moment, then returned wearing a pair of donkey ears—braying like a full-fledged donkey.
Sarah tried to keep a straight face, but she couldn’t hold back. She burst into laughter.
And just like that, a family tradition was born.
From that day on, whenever John forgot something, Sarah would lovingly call him a “donkey,” and John would play along, braying like a champ.
But John wasn’t done yet.
At a big family gathering, he forgot the dessert he had promised to bring. As expected, Sarah gave him her signature “Really, John?!” look and called him a donkey.
But this time, John took it to the next level.
He disappeared for a few minutes, then returned in a full donkey costume—ears, tail, hooves, the whole deal. And right there, in front of the entire family, he started braying at the top of his lungs.
For a moment, silence. Then—uproarious laughter.
Sarah doubled over. The entire family lost it. Soon, everyone was braying along with him!
From that day on, John was lovingly dubbed “Donkey John.” Every family gathering since has included at least one moment where someone, somewhere, starts braying.
And speaking of donkeys… Can you spot the donkey in the picture below?
