One day, as he awoke, weak and emotional, he motioned for her to come closer and whispered, “You’ve been my rock through everything.”
He recounted all the hardships they’d faced together and marveled at her unwavering love and dedication. “Even when we lost our house, you stood by me. Your support kept me going through every storm.”
Touched, she smiled and whispered, “I’ll always be here, love.”
But just as she thought the moment couldn’t get any sweeter, he looked at her with a serious expression and said, “You know what, darling? I think you’re bad luck.”
