A married couple never fight in 25 years

Once upon a time, there was a couple celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. They had become local legends, known far and wide for having never had a single argument in all those years.

The editors of the local newspaper were curious about their secret to such a “happy marriage” and decided to attend the celebration to find out.

Editor: “Sir, this is incredible! How did you make it work for 25 years without a single conflict?”

The husband smiled, remembering their honeymoon days, and began to tell the story:

“We went to Bora Bora for our honeymoon, and after much deliberation, we decided to go horseback riding. I picked a decent, calm horse, but my wife’s horse seemed a bit… wild.

As we started riding, my horse was behaving just fine, but suddenly, my wife’s horse took off, throwing her straight to the ground.

She got up, dusted herself off, and calmly patted the horse’s back, saying, ‘This is your first time.’ She climbed back on, and we continued.

Then, not long after, the same thing happened again. The horse bucked, and she was on the ground once more. But this time, she just said, ‘This is your second time,’ and got back on without a word.

When the horse threw her a third time, though, she calmly reached into her purse, pulled out a revolver, and shot the horse dead.

I was in shock. ‘What are you doing? Are you out of your mind? You just killed that poor horse!’ I shouted.

She looked at me, completely unfazed, and said, ‘This is your first time.’”

The husband chuckled and finished with a grin: “And that, my friend, is the secret to our 25 years of happiness.”
